Feeling good about DJing again!

Hi pals!

Got my DJing in place again after yesterday. I learnt some new stuff from Reddit, specifically /r/beatmatch.
I really want to create a mix on Popeska's EP Karmameter but I never seem to get around to doing it.

Oh well, patience!

Casuality: YouTube videos and TV series

Hello pals!

Honorable mention: Exi.

Looks like I've ended up in the world of watching and appreciating YouTube videos properly again. I have mostly been watching Dopefish and TotalBiscuit along with other videos. Despite me not playing games like I used to, I still enjoy these kind of videos.

I have also started on the 6th season of House M.D. Such a great TV-series. I was skeptical about it at first. Turns out I just hadn't watched enough of it to fully understand what it was about. Oddly enough it was the ending of the series that made me think about watching it from the beginning.

Seeing as there's 8 seasons of House M.D I am going to need a new series to watch. I was thinking Sons of Anarchy or Fringe... or maybe Community? Anything works as long as it's good!

I have also, after some adjustments made a spot for my DJ controller on my desk. It's gonna be good!

Tweetbot for Mac!

As most of you know, I love Twitter. I got my twitter account in 2010. At first I didn't quite know what to do with it, but as time went on I discovered how to get talking with new people.

I have had the pleasure of talking about mutual interests with loads of people during the time that has passed and I am really happy that I created my account in the first place.

Back when I started I used the website. It was slow and clunky to use. It still is to some extent, but it has become better. Right now I use Osfoora on my Mac, Tweetdeck on my PC and Tweetbot on my iPhone to keep up with the latest and greatest going on. Tweetbot is definitely my favourite of those clients… and it's now available as a public alpha for Mac!

My experience with Tweetbot has been great. It's a snappy, intuitive client that covers all my needs and even in its alpha stage it works great! No crashes and nobugs so far. There's only a few features missing, one of them being support for Growl. My favourite feature so far is the touchpad getures from OS X Lion. It's not needed at all times, but man it's fun to use!

I will be following the development as good as I can and hopefully write something more about it!

Game Time! Tribes: Ascend

Hello guys! I haven't been writing all that much lately, because I've had a sinus infection. Drained all my energy and inspiration, but now I am back on track!

Tribes: Ascend is a new FPS game which involves blowing people up/shooting them down while sliding around with the help of a jetpack! Speed is a huge factor in this game which, in my opinion, makes it so fun. Speed is gained by using the jetpack uphill and sliding down slopes, repeat to gain monumentum.

The game has several classes, such as Sentinel, Pathfinder, Solder, Technical and so on. They're all good at different things. Pathfinders, for example, are fragile. The pro with them is that they're very lightweight so picking up, gaining and keeping monumentum and great speeds is easy. The pathfinder, thus, makes for a great flagcapper.
You can buy upgrades and new guns by either using a currency gained by playing or if you buy it. All classes serve different purposes.

The classic game modes are available to play as well, such as Team Deathmatch, Capture The Flag, Capture And Hold etc.

I have only played Team Deathmatch, which only involves killing people.
Team Deathmatch in Tribes: Ascend has an interesting twist though. There is a flag involved which plays a pretty big part in the gameplay. Sure, to win you still have to kill people, but to gain as much points as possible you have to make sure someone in your team has the flag. That way, everyone on your team will gain double the points for killing someone, which is awesome.

The best part about the game though, despite all the flying around, blowing people up?

It's free, and available on Steam!
If you decide to try it, you won't lose anything. If you like it, well, awesome! Welcome to the party!

Tingling Tech Senses: iOS 6

This post will be a follow-up on my article about Mac OS X Mountain Lion, as they're both related. In short, there's so much I am excited about with iOS 6 that I am not quite sure where to begin. I will still try to narrow it down to 3-4 things to talk about.

So. Let's begin with:

Maps

Maps is looking at a complete redesign from the maps Apple used from Google along with some really cool features. Among turn-by-turn navigation and traffic notifications to notify you about contruction sites and accidents, we have flyover. Flyover brings 3D pictures that allows you to zoom, pan, tilt and rotate to see things on the other side of the globe.

Shared Photo Stream

Are you a fan of Photo Stream? If you are, you will love this piece of upgrade. I guess you're also tired of sending pictures over MMS? Well, that's no more! If you have a friend who runs iOS 6 or Mac OS X Mountain Lion you can now share pictures with that person! The pictures you share with your friend will appear in their PhotoAnd even if they don't have an apple device, they can still view the picture over the web. I find this spectacular and it's a lovely extension to the already amazing Photo Stream.

Phone

Business people will love the upgrade the phone part of the iPhone will see. Let's say you're in a very important meeting and someone calls you. The new upgrade allows you to reply with a text message or set a reminder to call back in a pre-set amount of time or when you leave the office. As I am working all the time I am looking forward to this change.

And as with OS X Mountain Lion, there's things I won't cover in this article. I am keeping it to the things I am most excited about to keep down the length of the post. Not everyone want to, or have the time, to read an essay.
There's lots of other stuff I am excited about for iOS6, some of the features being FaceTime over cellular network, Facebook integration and finally be able to post status updates and tweets from Notification Center. If you're hungry for more, check Apple's official site for more info!

Tingling Tech Senses: OS X Mountain Lion

I use a Macbook Pro to do all my work. Photo editing, writing blog posts, writing stories, twitter and everything else related to reading.
I love this computer and I got really happy when Apple announced OS X Mountain Lion. It sure has some neat features, but there's a few features that made me extra happy.

iCloud

iCloud is going to be a blast to use with Mountain Lion and the upcoming iOS 6. Pages will receive full iCloud support and as I like to write, I can have my stuff pushed to my iPhone in case I need to change or add something. I've already had a small taste of this. I downloaded an app on my computer via iTunes and it was instantly pushed and installed on my iPhone without me realizing it. Added iCloud support is going to be great!

Messages

I think everyone knows what iMessage is by now… and it will be available for Mac! I had the opportunity to try the beta version of Messages for OS X Lion but, as it was a beta version, it worked as expected. I don't know how much use I will have of this as regular SMS/MMS will not be supported by Messages, but it's cool nevertheless!

Safari

Safari is going to see lots of improvements with OS X Mountain Lion.
The external search bar has been merged with the address bar, just like in Google Chrome. Finally. It's a huge timesaver!
iCloud Tabs is a new thing as well. Let's say you're on the train home and you browse around on your iPad. During this train ride you find this interesting article that you didn't have time to finish because you had to pack up your stuff and leave the train. When you get home later and open your Mac to do some work, you remember the article. Well, it's all there. The tab you had open on your iPad is now viewable on your apple devices!

There is of course lots of new stuff that I haven't covered in this article, but that's because I am not as hyped over them.

Thanks for reading!

Hello world!

I have finally come to the decision to start this blog after months of lacking motivation and exhaustion from my job.
Writing about technology related stuff in a causal manner was a part of my internship last year and I enjoyed the crap out of that.

We didn't have many readers, but there's something special with that satisfaction you get when you finally upload a blog article you have been working on for so long. The purpose with this blog is going to be just that. I am going to write casual articles about technology, games, music and the likes and I am going to enjoy the hell out of it.

Thank you, and welcome! :)
